Wild Wallpaper Hack
This has turned out to be such a fun little space. We had a specific “look” in mind for this bath because it doubles as the guest bath and little T’s bathroom when she is with us. So, we wanted it to be kid-friendly with a sophisticated twist. We still have some work to do, but we are loving it so far.
I tossed a few ideas for the walls around and kept landing on wallpaper. As we all know, it’s recently made a massive comeback. Even with all the advancements it’s made since our mothers used it back in the day, I’m still just not excited about the process. Furthermore, when I priced out a few options, it was a hard no. Ouch! Priceyyyy. If there is a way I can get the job done on a budget, I will find it. My friends don’t call me the queen of dupes and hacks for nothing ya’ll.
So, after much deliberation, we landed on decals. I’ve used them a few times for other projects and it’s been super successful. The funny thing is that when people go into the bathroom they think it’s wallpaper.
Tips and Pros of using decals:
There is a lot of room for error. Most of them can go up with really no rhyme or reason
They do not damage the walls. Easy to take off and reapply. Great for apartments or rentals
Budget friendly
You can make it your own. Create a pattern or mix and match with different shapes
Painting the wall underneath gives you endless possibilities
When removing the decals, use a small pin or tack to lift up the edge and slowly peel from there
Amazon has tons of great options
Overall, decals are one of my favorite ways to make an affordable impact on a space. Also, if you’re like me and enjoy redecorating spaces, it’s a great not so permanent option. Check out some of my favorite decals below!
Have you used decals in any of your spaces? I’d love to see what you came up with!
